Welcome to Region2TM.org, a web site specifically tailored to the needs of the leadership (international directors and district officers) who serve more than 17,000 members in more than 1,050 clubs within California, Nevada, and Hawaii. Of course, all Toastmasters members are welcome here.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. The first Toastmasters club was established on October 22, 1924, in Santa Ana, California, by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley, who conceived and developed the idea of helping others to speak more effectively. More clubs were formed, and Toastmasters International was incorporated under California law on December 19, 1932. If you are not familiar with Toastmasters International and its benefits, you will find quick, helpful information (and links to further details) at Toastmasters.org, the official website of Toastmasters International™ and in links below.

What is Region II?

Toastmasters regions provide training for the top three District Officers, nominate one or two Toastmasters for election to the Board of Directors, and select a finalist for the International Speech Contest.

Region II consists of the area from San Francisco to the Mexico border and from Las Vegas to Hawaii. Representing the Toastmasters in this area are eight districts: District 1, District 4, District 5, District 12, District 33, District 49, District 52 and Founders District. These eight districts serve approximately 17,000 members in 1050 clubs. International Directors within the Region provide support for the top district officers in their efforts to deliver a Distinguished District program for their clubs.

In August 2009, every Toastmasters club in the world will be asked to vote on a very important set of governance changes that are scheduled to take effect in 2010.
